Found Faces Story

In the foyer, musicians surrounding me, helping with difficult notes, is all in my job description. My name is Starr, I moved here from Richmond, Indiana just a few months ago. I was sad to leave all of my family behind, but I had to prove to them all that the music industry is not dead, and that I can make a living here.
Saying goodbye to all of my loved ones was hard, but I know that I can do great things here; I am positive that I can help aspiring singers do phenomenal things with their voices! My family played beautiful songs for me, and wished me well before I boarded the big rig. The truck smelled funny, and I was not too happy about being dismembered and separated into a bunch of big cold boxes, but as long as I got to Newberg safely, I could handle being pulled apart and put back together again.
In the truck, I had a long time to myself. Unfortunately, since me and the other pianos were all taken apart, we could not communicate with each other at all, which accounted for a long ride. I thought of different ways to introduce myself, I remembered all of my tuning and training. I imagined what this new place would be like, how the people would treat me, if I would be used in concerts or just for practices; I fantasized about my unfamiliar new life.
Now that I've been here for a few months, I could not be happier! The people here are so lovely and they take considerable care of me. When they sit on me, they are careful to distribute their weight evenly across me. They play carefully with my keys, and are just generally kind to me. My favorite times are when I have the first sopranos from women's choir surrounding me, singing their sectionals, conversing about parts, learning the words to a piece. They are all very smart and amazing problem solvers. Their voices are like honey on a biscuit, just so sweet!
Though I love the people here, I have still held on tight to a secret that no one but my best friend back in Richmond knows about. I feel comfortable enough now though to share with the world: I can tune my own strings with my pedals. I know, it's crazy! As far as I know, I am the only piano from here back to Indiana that can bend enough to do that. Other pianos do mediocre things like turn any popular radio song into a beautiful piece on themselves, or open their lids on their own, but tuning my own strings is pretty darn cool. I am one low-maintenance piano!
